Oil Pressure and temperature sensor tie ins.

Featured Replies

where do you put them for aftermarket gauges?

Just in case I fancy some ;)

Pressure is easy, temp isn't.

Get a 2 way adaptor and plug into the existing pressure pickup point. You need to keep the standard one plugged in or you get the oil pressure light on all the time. It's on the righthand side of the block, below the L shaped bit of plastic that goes round the side of the engine, near the crank case breather pipe, as per below. Remove A, shift B out of the way and follow the Arrow ©. It has a single wire going in and the connector is quite stiff. Mind you don't rip the wires out.

As for temp, I just used to use the pressure as an indicator of the temp rather than fitting a gauge. I think those who have them have had to put in a second pickup point near the sump drain plug (or just replaced the drain plug).

the drain plug is my current option however as i now have a second hole in the sump then i might consider other options...

Cheers guys. Just like the Impreza's pick up points!

I thought the Scoob had a second pickup point? The 1.8T uses the standard one hence the need for an adaptor

The classics did. My Fugly required a tee to be fitted in the engine block with the OEM low pressure switch mounted on the top and the impulse line to the pressure gauge coming off that.

Do you have any pics of your gauges?

I'm torn petween an A pilaar pod and something below the stereo.

Cheers

Steve

Haven't got them on the SDI yet. Just had the DEFIs in their own pods next to the binnacle. Looking at mounting them below the stereo when I get round to it. Had the controller in the cutout below the steering wheel.

I got a 3 gauge DIN mount a few months ago fromImpossible Performance for about
