How grippy are the Vrs style pedal covers?

Featured Replies

I sometimes find the standard hard plastic Fabia pedals a bit slippery if my shoes are a bit wet, especially trainers for some reason. Just wondered if a set of the sporty ones might be worth a go. The certainly look quite good and aren't horrendously expensive. I presume the simply clip over/in place of the originals?

The only problem I have with my vRS pedals are that when it's wet my shoes tend to squek on them mate.

I dont think they are that grippy my feet somtimes slip off them in the wet

They do seem slippy in the wet, and that squeak is very annoying in traffic. :D

I sometimes find my shoes get stuck to them. If you have your heal resting on the floor and are accelerating, sometimes the grips get stuck between the treads of your shoes.

I still like them though

I wouldn't say the vrs pedal covers make much difference than the normal pedals.

I find that too- I actually keep paper towels to dry them. The slightest trace of diesel makes it 10 times worse.

there's a kind of friction adhesive strip that they sell for sailboat decks - available in all sort of widths. It's a sort of grey with almost a permanent sandpaper finish. Keep meaning to get some and stick it on the rubber pedal bits... very slippery when wet....

Thanks for the responses. Doesn't look like I'd gain much by changing them then. Can't really justify the cost on looks alone (though they do look good).

I replaced my standard one with the vRS ones (mine were actually off an Audi TT) and the improvement was immense.

If I take my grandad out in the car when it's wet he always goes to me

"why did you not dry your feet on the car mat before using the peadles!"

don't like wearing my work shoes in the car no grip on the peadles in the wet.

slippery when wet....

Bon Jovi anyone:D

I have to go to the stealers in the morning anyway to pick up some parts, will see if there's a Vrs there I can have a look at. Just had another look at them on the Skoda website - 50 quid! I'm sure they were a lot less than that last time I looked!

Just use a light sandpaper to rub away the smooth surface of the rubber and this should help a lot :)

Go to a local skateboard shop, they'd probably give you some grip offcuts for nothing or a few pence at most. Mostly black, but if you fancy paying a fiver or so you can get anything from Bright orange to Pink Camo or busty trucker women on it. :D

About £30 all in:thumbup:

I drive wearing 2 different pairs of shoes (at different times!!) .

One pair is slippery as ...a really slippy thing when wet. However, the 2nd pair are actually more grippy when wet!!

Strange
