Favorit Ignition problems

Featured Replies

First of all thanks to everyone who has replied to my questions, however I am still having problems. I will try to explain what I have done and if anyone can help I would be very grateful.I have removed the immobiliser and joined up the breaks in the wires, I could only find two breaks. there were nine wires coming out of the immobiliser. Four taken care of by the breaks, one went to earth, three wires ( I think ) out of the immobiliser went on to the ignition, which leaves me with one yellow wire which went from the immobiliser to somewhere in the engine ( there is no break in this wire, although I have not traced where in the engine in goes to )

If anyone can help me I would be forever grateful because at the moment I am relying on my wife or friends to get to work, which is not an ideal situation.

I have a 1995 Favorit Estate GLxi.

Apparently a yellow wire from the ignition switch leads to the starter motor, so on the starter motor it will be the wire that is not the one directly from the battery. That's all I can tell from the Haynes manual.

If everything else is connected, and the battery is fully charged, I assume the car will push start.

I think the immobiliser cuts the fuel pump, starter motor and spark.

Unfortunately the immobiliser is technically aftermarket, although it was fitted by Skoda, and is not mentioned in the haynes manual.

We have two favorits in the family and both have had the immobilisers disconnected (but the light is left flashing if the ignition is off so that it looks like the immobiliser is working). These were done because the red keys had lost their contacts through wear.

They were both done by Frank Cook Motors in Wellingborough. I'm sure if you spoke to them they would be able to tell you how to sort out your ignition.
