Is This An Easy Job?? Fabia vRS Headlights?

Featured Replies

Hi Folks

I will eventually stop saying this but 'Over the moon with my Fabia vRS.

I have been looking recently at these new headlights called Xenon.

At the time of ordering I could not afford these as a factory option, but...

Is it possible to change the normal headlight bulbs to Xenon? Or does the complete headlight housing have to be replaced?:(

Thanks for any help

you can buy the aftermarket kits but IMO they look terrible as with not having a projector unit in your car the light is like a blue blur rather than if u have the projector style headlights there focused also there is the another topic about this some were do a search there will be a lot more info that way mate a lot of people just recommend the philips visions bulbs which you can pick up in halfords and they seem to brighten up the road a lot

hope that helps

Am I the only person who thinks that the standard Fabia headlights are perfectly sufficient?

Nope.[sCARY ALIEN TYPE VOICE] You are not alone :alien: [/sCARY ALIEN TYPE VOICE]

I have uprated bulbs and very rarely use main beam

it looks that way mate

I had uprated bulbs in my Fabia but found main beam was still needed a lot, especially on dark country lanes, etc.... I've driven a couple of cars with HID headlights and can't really see any benefit over the +80% halogen bulbs I have now....

The factory fit Fabia Xenons are brilliant (When you get them adjusted) They are far superior in many ways to standard and even uprated bulbs, I really miss them now I don't have the Fabia. It's a different kind of light, not really any brighter but the effect it has in poor weather and on long dark raods is it will light up things much further away. They are just so good and I wish the Roomster had them as an option :(

Aftermarket HID kits are technically illegal and in a lot of cases they give a poor light pattern and fitting the genuine kit to a non Xenon fabia as discussed many times previously would be like trying to ice skate uphill.

How do you get Xenons adjusted?

Mine seem to be a bit on the low side, but the ex Skoda man I take my car to says they cannot be adjusted.

That may be why he is an EX Skoda man... :D

It takes about 5 minutes with Vag Com.
