VAG-COM guide needed

Featured Replies

I've just got my first laptop PC. As I've always owned desktop PC's, I've never followed advantages of having a laptop and possibilities of installing the VAG-COM. So, now I would like some advice:

1) VAG-COM can be installed as a software in my laptop, right?

2) What version do I need (Octy2 140 TDi, got it Sep2006, VIN says got out of the factory Aug2005)

3) As I live in Portugal I'd need to do online purchase of software. Any suggestions where from and how?

4) What type of cable do I need and what do I have to be careful about (chineese, etc...)?

Thanks to all!

it needs to be installed onto the laptop and a lead from ross tech. if yours is only a couple years old then a micro can lead will be suffice.

All the information you need can be found on Ross-Tech: Home they have a downloadable guide in English.

The lead you need has to be CAN compatible.

You can also find different language versions of VAG-Com on thier site.
