C**p bodyshop in Glasgow

Featured Replies

Directline Insurance arranged for repairs to my Furby at UK Assistance, Rutherglen, Glasgow.

Here's my advice: AVOID THEM, they are complete c**p. No other detail required, just believe me.

That bad?

whereabouts in rutherglen? what was the issues?

This is why I never use the bodyshop recomended by insurers. You can bet it's down to a price.

At rear of an industrial estate on LHS heading east just before railway bridge at old Richmond Park laundry. Big premises.

Even after two goes still couldn't get the bumper to wing gaps parallel, in-plane or to correct dimension.

Paint colour mis-match.

Car's going elsewhere, at Directline's cost.

Boundary Garage in Bury did a good job on mine and they were insurance approved repairers.

All I needed was a new rear wing though.

I suppose some places are better than others.

Hope you get your car fixed dude.

Car will shortly be going to Henry's Skoda, Glasgow. I'm much happier with them arranging the repairs.

Yesterday, we got our wee Furby back from Henry's bodyshop.

No comparison between them and UK Assistance.

Panel fit and paint job is excellent.

Car was handed back in immaculate order. Washed and dried off; interior vacuumed. Other dealers/bodyshops take note; that's how it should be done.

Well done guys.

That was the situation in February. Spoke too soon, I'm afraid.

Since then: the shut lines at interfaces with wings opened up - worse than previous, re-painting was required due to problem which cropped-up during re-fitting; re-painting yet again due to lacquer runs; re-painting once more - this time orange peeled effect.

As I write, I'm awaiting a meeting with the head honcho.

Bad luck my friend - fingers crossed it gets sorted, once and for all!

Car returned today via dealer manager and latest bumper re-paint and fit seems okay. However, the first time it was re-painted it looked pretty good to, then fit went wonky, so it's fingers crossed this time.

BTW, the courtesy car they gave me was a Roomster Scout 1.9 tdi. Good all rounder and got lots of favourable comments. Many liked the looks as well.
