N75J fitted

Featured Replies

and the car is worse.

still hesitates under part acceleration and is now venting off boost under part load at 4500rpm, which is odd as its not at WOT.

Its probally fitted the wrong way.

J vesion goes on with the connector facing the bulkhead.

The f and h version go on the normal way,the j goes on the other way.

my initial thoughts were that it did! ta mart, full power restored, but problem still there :(

Mike is the car showing any error codes?

What do you mean venting off boost?

Mine sort of does this now and again around 3K foot half down and I get psst psst psst psst? It's more like pulsing?

I don't get any hesitation(Well none that I notice)

I havent got any codes that I can see.

the venting of boost was it dumping all the boost lol - its back to normal now though.

my hesitation / judder happens under acceleration on part load - in the transient stages. under WOT my car is great until 6k rpm in 3rd when it missfires but you can drive through it.

a lot of cars do it mike, its a common thing that i don't think you'll fix.

i know mine did it on a jabba map.

Mine sounds like it does the same sort of thing.

As for the J n75, from what i've read on these forums some cars love it and some don't get along with it... guessing it depends on what map etc.. etc... you have.

Nope, I haven't seen this....

Coilpacks?

im in a learning mood tonight lol what is n75j?

Coilpacks?

That should throw up a code though!

I was thinking the same

Coil pack/plugs/plug gap?

i was meaning the part throttle hesitation not the misfire :)

it might sound like a silly question but what exactly happens during the misfire? is it simply a slight misfire involving a little noise and judder or something other than that?

the more info you give us the more we can try and help you :)

It should not misfire around 6k. This defo sounds like a plug/coil problem, has it happened since you regapped them?

You will just have to wait until your new plugs arrive.

Mike in answer to your previous pm. Your problem is different to mine as mine used to hesitate on full throttle only, it was great on part throttle.

This N75H on ebay thats been mentioned, is it any good? thinking of giving it a go as its on my parts to change list, cheers.

I got the J as im just eliminating possible faults.

Why don't you just fit the proper one for the car......

N75 'F' VAG part no. 058-906-283-F

Sounds like your coil packs are shafted too.

If the coil packs were shafted, the car would miss under WOT when the car is under more load in all gears, rather than just at one rev point.

the missfire doesnt occur all the time either.

Mine is on a Jabba Custom map and does that too.

Whereabouts is the N75 located? could someone post a picture of where it is please? because i alway thought it was the one on the top of the engine but thats another N something isnt it?

The N75 "IS" on top of the engine, just to the right of the dump valve.

ahh well that helps! been putting it off as i couldnt find it as didnt think it was that one.

Thankyou

your thinking of the N249 valve i believe :)
