Where can i put speakers in my fun?

Featured Replies

Hi

I want some more music in my fun, and i have a set of Sone Xplod 6.5" components laying around, where can i put them?

I already have this:

Sony Xplod Headunit

Sony 5.25" Componets in the doors

I know how to work with glass fiber, if thats any help.

Best Regards

Morten, from Denmark.

Maybe under the driver and passenger seats? I always joked with a mate who had one - if I had it - I would have the seats open, with some huge speakers in the back with clear plastic to cover them - and some neons. How wicked would that look!?

Ive got a truckman on mine so i made a couple of mdf panels to replace the access panels in the pickup bed sides and bunged in a couple of 6x9s. Wiring up is a bit of a tw4t as all the trim in the back of the cab is stuck on

these are now coupled to a hoooooje mutant amp and an even hoooooojer pair of 12" subs in a ported enclosure just behind the rear seats

Sounds fookin wikid with the truckman off!!!!

The passenger seat, can tilt forward, so you can acces the rear seats, like in a 3 door car, so not a good place for speakers?

You cand send a PM (private message). Click "Control Panel" (at top of page), choose "Send new message" in left column and just write Lummox as recipient.

Thanks.

Didnt know that way to write a PM.

Edit, cant pm him, reason:

Lummox has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.

I have been thinking about this myself for when i get my fun.

I have been playing with building some speakermounts that i can place on the headrests. Just pop the headrests of and put the speaker mountings on. Ofcourse the speaker can be placed way farther down on the rear of the seat.

I was thinking about welding 90 degrees angle irons and then simply screwing these into wooden boxes.

The plus with this idea is that they can easily be removed and doesnt need any modifying to the car.

Ill make a instruction when (if?) i make them (looks like ill be getting my fun in the end of February)

I kinda like that idea.

But thats not legal here in Denmark, you cant have anything to hang on the headrest support, or remove the headrests.

So i am more thinking about building a new centre console, beginning under the radio and end between the 2 rear seats with 2-4-6 speakers and 1 or 2 amps, and then make a centre piece on the rear seats, with 2 speakers and a amp.

And some speaker pods, behind the front seats, up agianst the B pillar. with 2 or 3 speakers/ amps in each.

or remove the headrests.

.

ha, the head rests don't evan come near the right hight.

my head is well above them.

in fact, the seat backs are so low, i was thinking of fitting custom sized bucket seats, on safety grounds.

wouldnt bother fitting any there unless they are in custom enclosures as they will sound crap as there is no void behind them to enhance the sound. in the fav they even moved them to the doors
