Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Off to view a used specimen in a couple of days, can anyone out there please offer any useful advice as to what to check for/problem areas etc.....?

Thanks,as always

Other than the DPF not that i can think of.

How old is it? if its under 3 yrs it will still have its original warranty so i wouldnt worry too much.

Other than that mate i cant think of anything but have a search round on here and im sure a vRS TDi owner will be along soon to help further

I've had one from new for the last 7 months with no issues at all _ I love it!!

There is so much torque though that it spins up in 2nd in the wet or dry if heavy footed as the traction control is not very intrusive. I would check tyres on the front and any play in drive shafts on higher mileage cars because of this.

Rear tyre wear is a hot topic. Check the inner edges.

My estate seems too hard sprung at the rear - it feels too hard when unladen - anyone else experience this?

I get pothole thumps from the rear suspension but the front soaks them up.

Also, it can unsettle the rear on a bend where the rear seems to skip slightly if a bump is encountered..

One gripe is the imprint left on the seats after folding over - They do go after a while but it's a bit of a design fault in my opinion... I got a cheap cover to put underneath my daughters car seat to stop it damaging the alcantara fabric - check for wear on them all...
