i dont think that you will any special tools.

as long as you are replacing it with the same one you will be fine as its easy enough to get to really

i did mine the other day on a jack in the drive, didant need any speshal toold but thos rachet spenners with the flrxy head from halfords was realy handy, about 35quid,and when u put your manafold gasket back on make shour u get it rught way up or it blocks your inlet manifold when you go to fit your inlet back on. good luck mate

I did mine the other day, using a jack on the drive and didn't need any special tools. I did use one of those ratchet spanners with the flexible heads from Halfords, which was really handy and cost about £35.

When you put your manifold gasket back on make sure you get it right way up, or it will block your inlet manifold when you come to fit the inlet back on.

Good luck mate

nice 1

Would seem an excellent time for an upgrade to me :)

id be looking at putting a k04 on if i had the chance

Dude WTF, Try being a human rather then a retard...................

Dude, what's retarded about helping some dude out with their english ..... dude.

so can you bolt a larger turbo straight on? seems pointless to have to replace turbo and not stick a bigger one on if you can straight swap?

If my turbo blew then i would lie to the wife and tell her i was having a standard jobbo, but in reality it would deffo be the excuse i needed

Dude WTF, Try being a human rather then a retard...................

 Problem is some people are retards through ignorance and some people have genuine problems such as dyslexia. The latter can be overcome with tuition and the former work in meat processing factory's or similar.

Back on topic though. I'v decided to go bigger turbo but was looking at the Jabba HI turbo thingy. Can you simply buy a bigger turbo from a TT or Seat and just bolt it straight on then?

Darren

if you go bigger then you will need a new exhaust manifold to complement it. possibly a few more components too like ecu remap, FPR, Possibly injectors

Swapped my own turbo - not difficult really - just PITA leaning over the engine and working over the top....

Take off the intake manifold + EGR , remove the turbo. Reassembly is .....

Took me a couple of uncomfy hours...

tip to anyone married: get a quote on OEM replacement cost with labour - show to wife. Say you'll do it yourself to save money - then get an uprated one ("easier to DIY fit"). You still save money and keep peace at home (lol)....

You can use the uprated one as is on the car for a while, and then later on get re-mapped, etc....

Good luck

So let me get this straight. You are having a go at me for pointing out a complete lack of spelling, punctuation and grammar in a post while at the same time saying how you would lie to the wife.

Swap the word human for the word honest in your first post!

I'm sorry but if somebody doesn't have a basic grasp of the English language, then they actually do need to go and get some education.

As for the poster, Dyslexia doesn't do that to your English. A long term ex of mine was Dyslexic and also not from this country. Amazingly she could still speak and write English just fine. The same goes for German friends I have. It's all down to education and a desire to improve oneself rather than just hammering away and assuming you will get a job.

If I had a CV sent to me written like that it would either go straight in the universal filing bin or I'd send them a letter back explaining exactly why I wasn't going to employ them.

Look its simple, if you dont like a post skip it dont read it, If you cannot act as a valued membor of the community maybe you should train "How to be nice level 5", Oh and if i lied to my wife about the turbo I would be stupid, as getting the main dealer to fix a new one on and getting Mike at Impossible to up grade the differance would be slight.

Look all im saying is, you didnt even answer the thread starters question, you just went and slated a fellow membor of our community, why?, was their a need?, I dont think so to be honest.

Wasn't going to comment on this but maybe a pm would suffice rather than broadcasting to the whole forum :).

We all have our off days.

I'm leaving it at this, but yes there was a need. The how to be nice course, partners with a how to beat about the bush and never get anything done course.

Sometimes you need to say it how it is!

Abuse of the English Language including text speak really gets my goat, as it does other peoples too.

Since somebody else already requested, why not let this go back on topic?

Ok, the price differance between having a stealer put the same turbo back on and you putting an uprated version on may indeed save you money!.

I would deffinatly upgrade and if you can do it yourself even more reason too, especialy as the only special tool you will need will be a decent set of spanners and sockets. :)
