Tacho Signal

Featured Replies

Im just finishing an LPG install on a 1.8t Octavia (00) (My dads motor)

Fits nice but Im struggling to find a rev (tacho) signal.

The engine speed sensor is the obvious place but this gives a signal the Gas ecu cannot understand!

Anyone else fitted a BiGas system or know another location to get an engine rpm pulse from?

IIRC the signal will be a canbus signal, so your right the gas ecu wont recongise it.

Have you tried looking at the wiring entering the dash pod?

Dashpod should have it.

THanks Guys

Sorted it by cheating -

The gas kit will take a signal off a coil. Although this octy has the 4 coils, the kit can be set to read 2 coils so it reads 1/2 rpm! I took the signal off the coil 1 trigger and it works fine!

THanks for the assistance
