Personally I think they are a little big... it does look well done though :)

P.S find many small creatures / rocks being chucked into there?

Mmmm holes look a bit big, chance of stones hitting intercooler,or muck blocking air flow.

Well I dont drive through fields, if I did...

Besides, the arches get cleaned every wash anyway.

Hard to say, probably a placebo thing, but every little helps as they say.

Ethos, my DV pipe rubbed on my engine cover so I ended up cutting it back a little.

Looks ok I think.

That looks neat.

Like that small hole look.

Any idea on what drill size that is??

Cheers

Hi guys.

Speant most of the day putting these on. First off the TIP, this was the THS from ebay for £81.

Looked ok but when putting the bottom vacuum pipe on the nipple at the bottom the nipple actually pushed through so I ended up having to jubilee clip both sides (I might email the guy and possibly get a refund for a black one as I'm worried it's not going to stay on properly!).

The TIP took around 1 1/2 hours with a mates help.

My main concern is that it touches a metal coolant pipe halfway down... after a drive home it seems fairly hot. I'm guessing this must happen to all aftermarket silicone TIPS tho?

The TT vent was a bit of a pain, fiddly is nothing else.. but looks fairly good now.

The splitter went on nice and easy, looks sweet too I Think ;)

That is all

Hi mate,

Yea, get two of you. It helps no end!

We lined up the center of the splitter / bumper and drilled the two center pieces in first. Then one of us "moulded" the plastic to an even line and the other drilled / screwed it.

You might find you need to make tiny cuts in the plastic to allow it to flex easier, it needs a bit of bending it won't just sit on.

Hope this hopes!

As ethos states with two people it is much easier.

The two end pieces do need a little persuasion to go where they are needed to, but should not need cutting. If you are having difficulty, Fix the front part first and then tape the end pieces in place with masking tape then drill the holes through. Then remove tape and screw together.

lol

cheers fellas, ill try it tomoz, ill put a pic on of the finnished item.

hope it works coz it looks ace on everyone elses car.

Go for it.....

I put one on my car yesterday, was a bit of a faff but looks pretty good.... I think. I'll see how it goes, might take it back off. I'll get some pics later seeing as no one has put pics up of a silve car with one on yet!

  • 2 weeks later...

Actually got round this weekend to fit the TT arch vent to my motor.

Took a little longer than expected as I wanted to use the black flexy adhesive to hold it in place than use screws or rivets. This was a challenge as I had to clamp all the areas to get a good bond and the areas are not exactly straight. Had to keep the clamps onto the liner all night to make sure it adhered ok.

Results are I am very pleased.

What do you folks think.
