jerking+ clicking at acceleration

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a 1997 scoda felicia 1.9 diesel.

Since a while there is a clicking and a bit of a jerk when i engage the cluth and the engine starts to put a load on the tyres. It is a bit difficult to decribe.

e.g when the car is moving and i take my foot of the gas everything is fine. However when i accelerate the at the point of when the engine starts to produce power then there is a clicking. It i sounds a bit as if the engine moves around too much in the engine compartment and that this movement creates a sound. And evertytime the engine moves around it produces this clicking sound. It has gotten worse over time.

If i for example park the car up a hill and engage the clucth then as soon as the car starts to pull it clicks.

A[pologies for my difficulties describing the problem better.

Thanks for your help.

Possible worn engine mount, worn cv joint or something as simple as loose wheel nut. Does it sound any worse if going round a corner?

Hi

Thansk for your reply.

It does not get better or worse in corners.

I had to change the bottom engine mount a while ago as it was worn. not sure why.

And i also looked at the new bottom mount when a friend was starting the car on a hill and the engine moved quite a bit and therefore moved the rubber in the engine mount. That movement seemed to be correlating with the sound.

Is it correct that there are only 2 engine mounts on a diesel. One at the bottom and one on the driver side beside the pullies.
