Parrot CK3200 - anyone able to get a discount?

Featured Replies

I've found these for £100 on Amazon. Anyone know of anywhere cheaper?? :P

I'll be fitting it myself, so no need to consider free fitting deals etc. :)

£100 is good.

I'd be quite interesting in looking at the other model they do with a removable screen as I have the 3200LS and think it might be a bit of a target to people nicking things.

I made up a custom wiring loom for mine from the fuse box to the can bus and have the part numbers etc somewhere if you need them.

Still got to get a long thin torx driver so i can get the fuse box out to fit it mind :o

I think my Passat is a bit more "Old Skool" in that I'll only need the ISO connectors.

I've seen the 3200LS in Chris1ds Superb, and think its a nice bit of kit. Mine will be going low down on the only dash blank, so will be fairly discreet. I'm not sure someone will break in to nick a hands-free kit, and I'm pretty careful with the valuable etc.

Whats the model with the removable screen then? First I've heard of that!

Now that looks nice.

Will have to delve about for some reviews. That would certainly fit in with my dash better etc.

I've fitted a couple of them to other peoples cars.

Seemed a very nice piece of kit. Halfords have them in if you want to look at one.

For some reason I just am not so keen taking the thing apart when it's my own car :o

Only one review but

Think I will pop down to Halfords and see one in the flesh. I certainly do like the 3200 though and I've had a good play with one, but I do like the look of the 6100. The screen could be mounted discreetly, and the controller will fit wonderfully on the blank button I have...

Thanks Mark :)

Two there

The people i fitted them for are the type that would say something if there were problems and I've heard nowt bad from them.

There is nowt wrong with the 3200, but the colour isn't that great to read in bright light and I like the removable display.

You could always go for the 3200 LS Colour Plus:

Seems that has a microphone built into the display, which is nice :)

Hmm, neither of those reviews inspires confidence tbh!

The colour plus seems like an option for sure, but I'd be happy with the 3200 in terms of functionality... but I do prefer the looks of the 6100.

Off to Halfords for a gander in a mo!!

To be honest the 3200LS had lots of problems when it was new too. A firmware update over the bluetooth and all was good.

I'd pay the extra £20 to be able to take the screen off for the 3200 LS plus over the plain 3200

Or pay the same price:

I have one of these and am very impressed with it.

Just a word of warning.............I hope that you are a handy person when it comes to fitting stuff. I took mine to Sextons (good car audio centre) as i didnt the spotty oiks in Halfords! It took Sextons about 3 hours to fit and a lot of sweat and tears by the sounds of it! Cost me £175 all in, that included a wiring loom for the stream mp3 stereo. I was happy to pay the extra cash and then get someone else to fit it.

If you decide to D.I.Y then good luck and I hope it works out OK for you mate.

Sorry I lied! I have a CK3100! Still requires the same wiring apparently!

I can't belive a professional outfit would struggle to fit one of these

Cheers for the link Mark, very reasonable indeed.

Do you know if they come with an external mic to incase the internal one isn't quite clear enough?

I think the 3 hours is a long time!

However this is the Octy II, which doesn't use ISO connectors, so it is harder than just the plug it in they would no doubt have quoted.

I made up a custom wiring loom from the fuse box to the parrot, and will either pay somebody to do it or DIY if i ever get time and a long screwdriver. One place told em the little connector for the skoda audio in cost £30, so i laughed at them and went up to my dealer to pic up everything and a fire extinguisher for about that amount.

Tom, yes they come with the standard Mic.

I haven't fitted a plus, but by the looks of things that mic might not exist in the display anyway.

On the Ocyt MK I, so similar to the passat, I found the best place to fit the box was to the LHS of the radio next to the glove box. Industrial velcro is your friend :)

I ran the mic up the passenger A pillar and hid it in the mic slot in the sun roof controls

Can't remember if I switched the power wires on the leads, but inclined to think I did.
