Servicing Question??

Featured Replies

I had my fabia vrs 10,000 service back in June and my understanding was its next service would be due at 20,000. Its only been 7-8 months but im on 21,579 miles with no service light. The time i get to June I will prob done 26,000+. Will I have to wait until June 08 to service or should I contact Vindis Skoda?? Im worried something might go wrong and they will say I should of had it serviced! Thanks for your help. :)

They may have set the service light to come on after 20,000 miles. If they have set the car to variable servicing this could be the problem. Take it in and ask them to have a look. Or just get it serviced again anyway if it is due. perhaps the bulb in the service light has blown!

The car needs servicing every 10k miles or annually, whichever is sooner, so it needs doing now (I think there's a 1000 mile leniency either side so you're not that far off). Mention the service light not coming on and I'm sure it's just a case of setting it properly - did it come on for the 10k service?

Just ring your dealer, explain the situation and get it booked in. I'm sure it's not going to break anything*

Just rang the dealer and they said it was way overdue but could not explain why the service indicator didnt come on. Its booked in tomorrow but is £425 now for 20,000 service!

Pretty sure that price is way over what you should be paying - £250-£300 tops. Ring around a couple of other places and see what the going rate is :D

I thought the Furbie vRS had a trip computer, same as the Elegance?

If so, one of the modes is "miles since last service/til next service" [when it gets within 1_000 miles of mileage, or estimates you'll only do 1_000 miles between now and the anniversary of the last service]. If so, then you should see the clock readout change to a mileage when you switch on, and meet the 1_000 miles condition.

Agree - didn't look at vRS prices ,but 20k for a TDI at my local dealer was only about £180 or so

Just a note, the Fabia doen't have variable servicing and is fixed to 10k intervals.
