Primera Making Knocking Sound

Featured Replies

My Mrs car has started making a knocking noise which alters with speed from the front passenger side wheel. What would be a good thing to check???

Is it related to turning the wheel at all?

Could be a CV joint, my Primera made a knocking noise before the near side CV went pop. Either that or the wheel bearing.

Put in full lock in reverse with the window down and have a listen for a grinding/clicking noise.

Bloody hells bells!!!

Damned lucky you found it before it got any worse.

Had any work done to the tyres or anything recently??

No work at all. It just happened out of the blue on her way to work this morning.

I presume it's all good now?

Scummy little ********

I would consider a few locking wheel nuts on each wheel to prevent the possibility of all 4 being loosened. Failing that, a baseball bat for the little scrote who did it.

Hopefully it was a one off.

i was just about to post , check the wheel nuts , but you obviously found out that was the problem , there are deffo some kn0bheads about in this country

I know somebody who leaves their car at train stations etc regularly.

They ahve the factory locking nut and a Mac Guard locking nut opposite each other for exactly this reason.

Was somebody trying to nick the alloys or were they just out and out kn0bheads rather than regular kn0bheads?

It has wheel trims so no fancy wheels to be nicked. So they where idiots basically!

I hate people like that - why try to steal normal wheels that could in effect cause a serious accident/death...

oh wait, I forget, so they can be "cool". - F***ers!
