And the courtesy car is...

... a Skoda Felicia.

The mighty black monster of Manchester went in to have an air vent on the aircon fixed this morning. To my absolute [i:db0d1dba57]delight[/i:db0d1dba57], I was handed the keys to a T-reg Felicia.

I've almost managed to get it up to 55 on the motorway.

Rob, you know the police take a very dim view of smokey and the bandit style driving of sitting under a trailer of rig.

The felicia is no match to an RS of course , but a normal Felicia without faults can do more than 55mph, My son and myself both have 1.3 Felicias and easily achieve motorway speed limits, top speed of a 1.3MPI is according to the spec is 101mph. My son also followed my RS in Germany and at times kept up at 90+mph.

On teh Felicias plus points the windscreen demister is excellent much quicker, more powerful than on the Octavia

Don't be sarcastic! I own a Felicia 1.6 GLi as well as a Combi 4x4. The Felicia has a much more flexible engine at low revs and the heater is the most powerful of any car I have owned.

... and the upholstery is better quality than my 4x4

... and the front speakers are superior to those in my 4x4

a pair of "binatone" headphones are better than the octavia fronts!

I've swapped mine for Pioneer units, huge improvement!

Which Pioneers, and have you done the front speaker door mod?

the felicia is the first car skoda made where i thought i could envisage owning one. tried to get my dad to buy me one, but got a renault clio instead.

umm, trying to remember part numbers!

They originally came with seperate tweeters, they are bigger than the originals but *just* fit.

Yes, did the "remove polythene" trick at the weekend, sounds much "warmer" now - next is to swap the tweets and rears...

(oh eck, getting back into stereo upgrades, this path only goes downhill!!)
