Octavia vRS insurance for young driver!

Featured Replies

I've got a RS estate, I'm only 21 and at the minute I pay £155 pm around £1800 pa. I’m with direct line & my renewal isn’t up till July but I wanna start looking now.

Is any one a young RS driver & if so who you insured with? If not a young driver if any one knows a decent insurer. I got a quote from Adrian Flux and it was almost double direct line.

Cheers

Try all the comparison sites, and also give Chris Knot a call - discounts for Brisky Freedom members IIRC ;)

Sounds about right these days for a 200bhp motor. I assume you have NCB and no points?

I'm 21 and pay £950ish with DirectLine :)

Forgot, area and where you park will also factor.

If you can, Garage ;)

Age: 21

Location: NP postcode (E-rated :o)

NCB: 2 years

Licence: 4 years

Parked: On drive

Try Elephant, with you as the policy holder and someone such as a parent (with a clean history) as a named driver. I'm 25, and my insurance is £450 like that on a mk2 Octavia vRS hatch, with Business Class 1 (so I can rinse the taxpayer for my mileage haha)

I haven't got any NCB unfortunately, got 4 years driving no convictions but was a named driver till last summer. I park it on the road as well, i dint know if what occupation i do has much to do with it but I'm a full time student part time civil servant.

its a bit **** how mines double like. LOL

Babs have you any mods and are they declared if so, i dont think DL will like mods i'm gunna ring and ask any way.

thanks again every 1

It's the NCB and the student bit that stings you mate :(

I don't have any mods, and DL won't cover mods on anyone under 25 sadly

Not an OCty vRS, but I'm 22 and pay 1200 fc on a Focus ST-2.

Thats with Direct Line. 5yrs NCB. And they are very helpful whjen making claims as I've found out over he last couple of weeks.

ive used moneysupermarket for car insurance. given me sum very competitive quotes

i am

21

1yNCB

Clean Licence

1 non fault accident

10k per year

just over £1K with churchill

but i will NOT be staying with them. i will be shopping around very soon.

Ive never found comparison sites to work well for me i always end up been quoted over 2k with them.

how do i find out the rating of my postcode?

I live in Leeds and my Girlfriend lives in NP11 postcode. My insurance would be £200 cheaper at her postcode than mine, which goes to show how much postcode affects it.

For me the comparison sites seem crap too. None have managed to beat my current insurer, eCar Insurance - Get a low cost car insurance quote from eCar Insurance

Someone on here recommended Brentacre to me - I gave them a call and they gave me a very good price. They've also been very good about mods since taking out the policy saying they only charge for changes which increase power - everything else I just need to notify them.

To be honest when i took the policy i never had any intentions of getting a vRS or a new car it was a propa impulse buy. I've just fitted a K&N CAI & Foge Split-R so should probably try and get an insurance company who insures these.

Tesco insurance have always been the best for me.

I'm 23

full licence for 6 years

6 years protected no claims

no convictions

Paying just under £600 fully comp.

And they've always been spot on. Whenever I've needed to change anything, I've just phoned them and always got it sorted straight away.

Whatever you do, don't have a bump if you've no NCD - as an ex company car driver, I had a prang in my Octavia vRS - followed quickly by my insurance renewal date. As the claim hadn't been settled (and it's a Fault on my part :-(), no one else would touch me - £2800 later, kerrching.

Still, am keeping the vRS - too damned awesome!

21 1 year license 0 NCB No points Octavia vRS TFSi with direct line £3600, but come renewal time with an extra year and a years NCB it should be half that. its about £360 a month

I was quoted £235pa with a £150 excess, guaranteed NCB and business use (£230 for the TDI VRS) by Elephant.

I think your pretty fortunate to be insured at all on a car like that. I can't beleive you'll be able to getting it much lower. Direct line are pretty useful to when it comes to paying out.

Chris

directline in my experience give in to other insurers and drag their heels, this is the second time ive been involved in an incident and its been directline as my insurer. now wished i went elsewhere on my last renewal.

im 20,

3yrs ncb

mk1 octy vrs

930 quid this year on tpft... zenith.

the way i see it... if i crash and its my fault ill take it on the chin.... the driver claims off my insurance i loose my ncb and its back to smaller cars minus the 3k i paid for the motor. just gotta be careful! however until i can protect my ncb i wont be fully comp because there isnt much point. but check all the comparison websites because they all differ and even try going to the main insurance websites as well because sometimes they r cheaper than quoted on the comparison sites.

Chris Knott all the way

Mk1 octavia VRS

£312, £250 excess, including all the mods below and the FMIC :D.

sky insurance £375 , £250 excess

Brentacre £540

That would be cause you're old ;)
