The Evry diesel tuning modification

Featured Replies

just a curiousity question....does the every mod fool the ecu into thinking the fuel is cooler or hotter..??...some say one ..some say the other!

from my reading of different threads that question for me at least is not to clearly answered!

Mod's Note: The thread title has been edited in the light of subsequent posts to make it clearer what this modification is, ie a variation of the resistor mod to increase engine power by increasing fuelling. A character by the name of Evry developed this version.

WTF is the 'every mod'?

Ehh What mod??

I think he/she means the resister mod as a guess?

.yes i meant the evry mod

Oh yeah, that mod. Everyone on here has it who has half a brain, it adds 10bhp or so.

What.

is this whole link written in code??? everymod? alf a brain?

What you all on about?

a resistor into thinking the car coolant temperature is lower, so that the ecu chucks in more fuel?

Its not accurately controlled. if its too rich its just losing you power, and potentially causing bore wash. both are not good.

It's so good, I've done it twice.

Well seeing as you've had no sensibly replies so far! The Evry mod plugs into the fuel temp sensor and IIRC makes the ECU think the fuel is cooler which causes it to compensate by running "richer" and overfuelling. Works very well in my experience and is by far the best bang for buck mod out there ;)

Chris

If it makes the ECU think the fuel is cooler, then the ECU will think the fuel is more dense, and supply less fuel!!

So it must make the ECU think the fuel is hotter then :o Also found this interesting page EVRY Mod

Chris

Isn't this mod a bit ropey

Isn't this mod a bit ropey

Using rope is fine so long as it has the correct resistance ;)

one way perhaps to solve the issue.....is for someone to do it..or someone who has done it ...to put thru the vag com.....fuel temp is monitored there so that would solve the issue... i think.

i have a vag com so i'll try get resistor soon and see what the fuel temp monitor shows

Using rope is fine so long as it has the correct resistance ;)

Chris

Very good, let me rephrase it then:P

Isn' this mod f**king ****** which in time can knacker your engine aka the ebay special

Evry mod is simply like chris said the best bang per buck. I had one years ago (and tempted Chris into getting his :) ) Only problem I found (only on newer cars) is the engine light comes on as the ecu reports a fault saying the fuel temp sensor must be faulty as its been recording the same temp for the last 3000 miles. lol

Isn' this mod f**king ****** which in time can knacker your engine aka the ebay special

ebay special = yes. Knacker engine = No.

Ah I see now, so in theory it's fine as long as yo don't mind you cel light coming on. Not that I'm getting any ideas here

Just buy one. If you dont like it sell it or if your tight for cash make one.

So what sort of bhp increase does this mod claim?

The evry mod is a modification of the resistor mod. Unlike most e-bay resistor mods which are resistor inside a plastic box with two connectors plugging into the cars fuel pump wiring block the evry mod uses a relay to switch between the cars 'std' signal wire and a resistor of your chosing. Ideally you will use a variable resistor so that you can control how much extra welly you want it to give [upto the limitations of this fuelling mod]. The use of the relay is so that in theory you can arm it AFTER the car has done its inital start up checks thus avoiding the engine management warning light from appearing. The relay is switched from a 'push to make' switch that energises the relay [and activates the circuit containing your variable resistor]] by using a 'live on ignition' feed to the relay. As soon as you turn off the ignition the relay 'defaults' back to the std circuit. This prevents you from accidentally restarting the car with the evry mod in the 'armed' position. [giving a possible engine warning light]

Fitting a 'push to break' switch in the relays earth wiring enables you to also kill the mod when ever you feel like it.. Basically its a resistor mod that you can activate/deactivate at will and which is designed to be 'unarmed' at start up to prevent warning lights.

Fitting the variable resistor with a Kn-ob and you can adjust the amount of extra welly it gives.

I got all the parts for mine from Maplins ..not fitted it to my current motor yet until I get the cam belt changed.

Here is the circuit diagram as fitted,I believe, to a 1.9TDi 90bhp. This picture has been taken from another fourm several years ago so can't remember who to credit

but here it is.

I'm presuming it's only designed for Diesels ?

Or can this be done on any car ?

Not fussy on trying it though.
