Hi - this morning on my second "journey", my sensors seem to be playing up. Worked OK firts thing reversing out of garage and later reversing off drive. After a short stop I restarted and selected reverse - got initial short tone they always give followed immediately by a long tone. the sensors do not respond to obstructions now. Have turned ignition off and back on - same short and long tones.:thumbdwn:

Weather currently dry and has been since came out of garage - any thoughts anyone.

Common problem I am afraid mate, if your motor is under warranty then see the dealer, if not then you have to look to get them replaced......

I learnt this the hard way by reversing into my mates car and haven't relyed on them since...............

Thanks Baker21 - it is under warranty. Just wondered if it was something simple. looked at sensors they were pretty clean but cleaned them anyway . still no joy. Thanks again

People always say clean them and this will solve the problem but this is not the case IMHO otherwise the design and technology of the sensors would be flawed......

I would head down to the stealers then mate if it's under warranty........

Mine did this the other week.

Dealer changed the o/s rear sensor - faulty.

They had them in stock, which makes you think that they go wrong on a regular basis.

Mind you, it was back within a hour - and it had been washed.

Very common problem. Have had to replace 3 in last year. Only a 5 five minute job. I can't complain too much, 108k since last march now and thats the only problem I've had.

was about to start thread on my sensors they have started doing a two tone beeping but they still do respond to obstruction. The car is no longer under warranty so am worried its going to cost alot to replace them. I can also park without sensors so can they be turned off until repair can be done??

Update - booked appt with dealer (15 miles away) then last night they started working again like they were never faulty - still OK today so have postponed visit.

I know problems with them are common but has anyone had them revert to normal opertaion? Is this an indication they are likely to fail again in near future and would their eqpt (VAG.com I guess?) pick up an intermittent fault ?

I have the same problem on my superb, they seem to work for a while then not for a while with no reason why.. At the moment they are not working. Does anyone know the cost of replacements and are they easy to fit..

Mine are dead too. Have been for a couple of months now. They started playing up, but now I just get the dreaded long beep and then nothing.

The instructions for fitting say to remove the bumper. Ignore it, you don't need to. It's tight but you can get to it, just!!

As for cost, a mate got them for me trade which was about £45 each.

I have had about 6 sensors and 2 control units replaced during the last 2 years and still the dealer says it is not a common problem and that 'they don't normally go wrong'. Yeah sure!

I have seriously thought about buying a wireless aftermarket kit to replace the standard Skoda ones. These kits can be had for about £100 which may be cheaper than just one visit to the stealers. Has anyone looked into this and, if so, do the aftermarket sensors fit the same holes as the standard ones?

My right sensor is broken, due to water inside the sensor.

I know that the water is the problem, because when I push this sensor, water comes out from the hole.

Is it possible to flip the sensor out from the outside using a small screwdriver or a sharp knife? Maybe the problem can be eliminated using air preasure, or some WD40 to spray the contacks.

Let's see what happens after winter, but I'm keeping my thumps up.

no problems with my sensors after 2 years (it's 3 years old) and it lives outside - but then it doesn't get washed as often as it should...

The Skoda dealer in Norway said that they don't sell PDC sensors.

The part number I'mlooking for is: 3U0 919 725 A.. On ebay I found for passas: 3C0 919 275 F. Will this fit a Superb 2004 model since the part number is different?
