Rear Washer

Featured Replies

The rear window washer does work but the spray can only reach about 3 inches up the window so it may as well not work. Front washers are fine, I don't have any damp spots etc. Fluid is going through as it does come out but not enough to clean the window. Can you guys give me any clue as to what's going on. I've put a needle down the hole as I read to do that but my needle was to big and it wouldnt g any further and I didn't want to jam it in. Ive read around the site but other peopl's seems to work or not work at all.

I know its an old post, but it shows that the search function works :P

I'm having the same problem at the moment, have checked the connection at the rear seats and thats fine, also the connection under the bonnet is fine.

Suppose that only leaves the tailgate, I assume there is a connection in there somewhere, Although I did notice when cleaning the car today the passengers front footwell was a little damp so possibly the two are linked

Yeah, from memory on mine the pipe had popped off in the tailgate. Pull the trim off, starting at the floor end on the inside of the boot lid, and you'll see. 2 mins to get the trim off and fix it, allow a couple of millenia to actually get the bloody thing back on!

if its still working, just really weak at the back i'd say you had a cracked pipe. If it was a connector that came off you'd have nothing.

Simple test... fill with water, squirt, does the passenger footwell get really wet?

Not sure if it runs along the trim panel under the door at the front, but I know it runs up the side of the rear passenger seat behind the plastic trim so its a possibility! Try following it back from there and see where you go.

I had a problem similar to this, the plastic surround had been dislodged, a quick *click* back in place and It was working again, worth a look.

Yeah, I knew that the pipe had come off in the boot as water was dripping out of the tailgate trim when I opened the boot after a prolonged squirt. There's a few options for where the pipe can become discontinuous; a search'll bring a few others up I think.
