I have had a search through some old posts but couldnt find the info im looking for.

What i need to know is

"what is the rim width of a standard fabia vrs wheel"?

Im looking at the rims on ebay at the moment but dont know the width im looking for:(

Im guessing 6.5"

The rims on ebay seem to give the width by using a number then J

(ie) 8 then J

J just means inches

7J means 7 inches wide

8s will go on. Std wheel is indeed a 6.5.

vRS Spiders commonly fitted to the Fabia are a 7.5, so you're not far off

I'd run 215/40s with them and you might get a little rubbing on full lock. Which style Audi wheel are you pondering?

i was going to get some 17,s but due to my car at the moment just clearing my sloping drive by about 1mm on standard rims and suspension after some thought i didnt fancy sticking bigger wheels on then splashing out to lower the car back to a standard height

Hmm in that case i would just antharcite the standard VRS rims, think they would look better

The problem is that its a lot easier to drop your rims off to get refurbed than leave the car there whilst they do it.

Buy the Audi's as the spares then and rufurb the fabia ones

I might as well buy some non alloy wheels to skate around on whilst the fabia wheels are being powder coated

Confirm on those, as they look suspiciously like the ones used on the A4 B5 shape SEs, so would therefore be 5x112 PCD and you'd need adaptors. Also, I don't believe they're 8s at all!

225/45/17 will more than likely rub, 215/40/17 are known to rub occasionally.

205/40/17 is the best 17" tyre size for the fabia.
