aero front wipers vrs

Featured Replies

hi everyone i need some new front wipers and want a good set where can i get the aero wipers from prices an links would be great also do they go straight on want some that are very very uiet are these the ones? many thnks

The wipers and arms are available as spares and just bolt on in place of the originals.

The original wipers take some getting off though!

They definitely work better than the originals and produce less wind noise.

I got mine from the dealer but they are also available from VAGParts.com

VAG Part Nos:

Drivers side blade: 1J2 955 426B

Passenger blade: 1J2 955 425B

Drivers arm: 1J2 955409 D

Passenger arm: 1J2 955 410D

In total about 60 quid for arms and blades going by what they cost me here in NZ

They are retrofit wipers that fit onto the existing arms. They work alright but not as good as the OEM arms and blades.

Worth going for if you don't want to shell out £60.

I guess those ones fit the standard arms

I have got em, quite a cool fitting mechanism on them, look much better than bog standard wipers, obviously there not the best at clearing the window but you cant really go wrong for a tenner, ive had mines on for 4k miles and there still good, no jumping, streaking etc ;)

Beat me to it!

These are the OEM ones fitted

The retro fit ones do just the same job i'd say, you can get some decent Bosch ones for around £25 ;) cheaper than £60, the standard ones do look cooler though

Several people on this forum, including me, have had positive results with the Bosch retrofit Aerotwin wipers (Bosch part # AR533S - Aerotwin Retrofit FLAT WIPER BLADE UPGRADE TWIN PACK 530mm & 475mm), available from WIPERBLADES.CO.UK : The UK's Premier Online Store

These fit onto the standard arms and give you the same results as would dedicated arms/wipers so there is absolutely no need to replace the arms.

thanks s much mate for the pick to show me they do look great but when they need to be replaced does that mean another 60? cheers mate

No, the arms are the more expensive bit and they're a one-off.

hi there mate not got anything:)

I've got the retro fit aero blades on my octavia and my wifes fabia, they are much quieter (wind noise) when in use and we have no complaints from them. Having said that, if you want the OEM look then spend out and buy the arm too as it will look better.

hi mate thanks for the info are they the ones from ebay then mate or the bosch ones? the bosch ones eem the same as the ones on ebay very strange considering the lower price lol :)

I think about £30 for a decent set of blades is par for the course. I replaced mine with Ford "flatblade" parts (look like rebadged Bosch) which were £30 a pair and simply mount using the existing arms. Performance is much improved over the normal wipers and they're still working great after a couple of years on the car.

cheers mate thanks for the info in your opinion mate am i better getting the ones from ebay cheap or the bosch ones? cheers

I've not tried the ones off ebay so no experience, but I can say the Bosch ones are excellent and I don't think they'll need replacing for a while :D

Wiperblades.co.uk for me - about £25 delivered for the Bosch flat blades :)

They work very well indeed!

Bosch Aerotwins from same source as Mossman get my vote.

Fitting to existing arms is straight forward.

Here's a pic.

Do the bosch aerotwins stick to the windscreen ok?

I had a set of aero wipers on the golf but if I used them over 60mph they flapped wildly and only cleared an inch of the screen.
