Featured Replies

Hi, looks like my clutch is on its way out after 57,000

Ive been quoted £430 all in by my local rainworth skoda,

and my local vagspecialist said £1100 if the flywhell need replacing too?

Is it normal for the flywheel to be stuffed? and are these normal prices???

im unsure about going for a uprated clutch as i will be changing the car in about 20,000 miles

any input would be appreciated

heres what i did,

Sach performance clutch kit £550

Oem DMF £200 from local auto factors

Youll be looking at about 4-5 hours labour on parts and retail price on the DMF (dual mass flywheel) is about £380!

Id say the 1100 is very expensive. Could get a helix kit fitted at awesome for not much more or maybe even less.

is there much of a difference performacewise in the oem clutch and the performance ones? or is it just reliability?

Theres alot of difference,

The sach one i have is exellent.

Theres no slip what so ever in any gear, and the change is so smooth and precise.

The peddle bites abit higher up and its a little stiffer but apart from that you wouldnt know it was a performance clutch

rule number one of modding: turn a breakdown into an upgrade.

By shopping about you can upgrade for cheaper than an OEM replacement.

Do not replace with the OEM clutch lol. Will just happen again, the remapped power is too much for them, go for either a Sachs or a Helix

Have a search, theres a million threads on this

go for the daddy, the spec, they are cheaper thanthe helix, due to the exchange rate, they are a bargain, and can handle ANY amount of power you care to put through it,560ft lbs rating for the stage 3+
