The Range

Featured Replies

Quick query. The range on the display, just how accurate is it?

When I had the S2, it had a very similar, probably the predecessor, setup. I used to run to E before I filled up. What's the Octy like on accuracy, is it going to get to E and stop or is it going to get to E and give me another 5 miles to get some petrol?

Not tried it to the limit myself. I've read here that some others have gotten about 20 miles further after it's said 0.

I've been on zero and been able to do about 5 miles then put 54 litres in a 55 litre tank.

That's in a diesel , but it should give you some idea.

It won't stop dead just after zero but you won't get too far either

Not fully tested, bottled out!

Taken it to 0 miles on one occasion but generally fill up with 15 - 40 miles remaining. That puts 53 - 54 litres in the tank, which with current fuel prices is around £60 - quite enough for one fill! ;)

I've been about 10 miles past zero - it did it but I was worried.

The other thing I have noticed is that the fuel light / bong goes off around 50 - 70 miles, but I will typically only manage about 30 - 40 miles of actual driving.

In other words, the range figure drops quicker than the miles are put on. Do others see this?

I prefer not to run it that low - I'm always worried about any build up of crap in the bottom of the tank getting into the engine etc.
