Replacing rear wiper arm - Fabia

Hi when I got up last Sunday morning, I found some **** had kindly snapped the rear wiper arm on my car. The arm was still attached but damaged.

I therefore removed the cap cover on top of the arm and then the nut with a adjustable spanner. However whats left of the arm (the black metal part) is stuck and will not budge.

I am a bit frightened to apply too much pressure, as I dont want to crack the windscreen.

Does anyone have any tips to remove it?

Also does anyone know the best and cheapest place to order the parts

Cheers

stick a bit of wd-40 or similar on the bit where you undid the bolt. It is just held on now by a bit of corrosion and the force applied by the bolt. Some good wiggling (I found gripping it with a big set of pliers worked best, especially as you don't need to worry about damaging it) and wiggle it whilst the wd-40 soaks in. :) When I changed my rear wiper arm, I must have spent 10 minutes wiggling mine about until it freed itself off the motor spindle.

Ensure you clean up the spindle afterwards with an emery cloth, or a file, and perhaps some copper grease would help, when fitting the new arm. :)
