Help!? light/glow plug warning lights

Featured Replies

both my brake lights went off and glow plug light started flashing! slight tap on one brake light and it worked and the glow plug light went off, is this something i should be worried about? apart from getting new bulbs, the glow plug light was worrying me?

Thanks

Mark.

I think that you should wander round to any VAG garage tomorrow and buy a new brake light switch (it's mounted on the pedal or bracket - I've forgotten which and these things have a very bad reputation for failing - seems to be lots of "bad batches" but VAG have also updated this item - so the colour might not quite match the one you remove). Maybe use the search function for more exact details - its not very expensive.

Update, on reading your text again, it looks like you should just change both bulbs at the moment - faulty brake light switch usually holds some of these (panel) lights on not flash them.
