Skoda dealer gives good service shock!!!

Featured Replies

I know nobody will believe me, but today, a Skoda dealer actually gave good service.

Skoda in Chichester actually repaired my car properly and my wife tells me they were polite on the phone! Had the bushes replaced under waranty and it has been done perfectly! They also set the anti hihjack feature for free!!!!

Im just waiting for them to get in contact with Skoda to see if I can have my front tyres replaced for free. - This is bacause the dealer in Fareham repetedly failed to disgnose the fault.

Think I will use them in future.

Woohoo!

So that's Chichester and Newport that are any good... any more? Lol

I tend to use Chichester myself. Always had good service and not a bad cup of coffee too.

What were the signs Chris?

I use Caffyns (Ashford) for all my parts, the guy on the parts desk is a top guy and quite knowledgeable, i even had a part given to me (from a warranty replacement) when the part i wanted was not available unless you bought the whole item that would of cost a few hundred £.

the signs were:

steering felt wolly - has to keep making steering adjustments all the time to keep on track

Vibration (not major, but noticable at over 70. 80-100 felt terrible(on a private track.......)

Began with a knocking from front when cornering a few thousand miles ago - this went

Could always hear noise from front.

I have only driven seven miles in it since repair - but felt very good.

Have a 150 mile round trip tomorrow - may actually enjoy the journey now!

Simpsons in Preston have given me excellent service, as have Benfield in Newcastle.

Guess Ive been lucky, but it does make a huge difference to the ownership experience

I'm always amazed at the bad service some of you seem to get at your respective Skoda dealers!

Since ive had my Superb it has had the usual water ingression problems, a broken water pump at 37000k (it is the 1.8T) and ever the vent trim at the bottom of the windscreen break in half, I have no warrantee left on the car just a full Skoda service history and my local dealer Farmers Skoda (Leicester) did all these repairs for free. Now that service!

My friend has an Octavia estate and one of the window mechanisms failed, he bought one from Farmers and took it to a local garage to have it fitted but the garage rang him to say he had been given the wrong side, He gave Farmers a ring who within the hour of him ringing had put the right part in a car and delivered it to the garage doing the work!

As Skoda are suppose to have one of the best customer service reputations ( and with the other dealers I've had to deal with I can second that) anyone else got and good stories?

Meadens of Sway in Dorset are excellent and the service is 100% totally faultless.

To date I cannot fault Sherlodge Gillingham.

Haven't found fault with Glasgow Henry's or Ingram Ayr

I wanted sill protectors for my new octavia and they were on back order when I got the car. A few weeks later when they were in they dropped them off at my work in Glasgow. Saved me a 60 mile round trip to the dealer, for what is only a £60 part.

I thought that was good.

Nice to know the standards that I experienced at their Botley dealership during my Scooby owning days haven't improved!:rofl:

IMHO they are not!

Oh why is that Dufflecoat?

We have found Winchester Motor company are excellent, weve got 3 Skodas & they have sorted them all out, always polite, always helpful & most importantly always do a first class job. They always seem to be able to fit you in when things go wrong at short notice & get it sorted.

I had parts needed on the car that was out of warranty a day before I went on the Cannonball. Skoda & VW couldnt get the parts to us in time so they rang round the dealers to find what I needed so that I could collect them, they didnt have to, I didnt ask them to, they just did it. 11 out of 10 to them every time

The sales manager out there is a former work mate of mine and is a good bloke, not your usual up himself type, he would always bring us a littlethank you at Xmas for prepping his sales for him through the year, and also fitted in as one of the lads, if he's still like this which I believe he is it helps make a friendlier enviroment all round.

I've had mixed experiences of Winchester Motor Company and their prices are not always competitive compared to other main dealers in the area. However, I've never bought a car from them so maybe they look after their loyal customers better!

Stuart..

You have no idea how happy it make me to read that.:)

It is a slightly long story, but they always seem to keep me waiting around uneccessarily and they failed a number of times to get me a test drive in the Roomster I was going to buy for the missus, but just couldnt get it sorted, they lost that sale, plus annoyed me in other ways around service time, car now goes to APD in Poole - highly recommended and good friendly chap working there.

  • 3 weeks later...

i got a quote from skoda dealer 1.9 fabia est, pads and disk all round, front wishbone bushes, rear suspension bumps. tootal fitted£620,so i went to r.s.d motorsport in daventry £500 all in!! well pleased with them, they have done a great job. They know VAG cars inside out, will be using again.:finger:

The family has 5 Skodas. 4 of them from one dealership in Crewe. We would have had all 5 from the same dealer but they had an "off day". Service wise all 5 vehicles go to the Skoda dealer in Crewe, they are very obliging and have always done a good job for us.

.....They also set the anti hihjack feature for free!!!!

What is the anti-hijack feature then? I know what it is for but what happens if you activate it?

Dave

It locks the doors when you go over about 10mph
