Decision time...induction kit tommorrow or not

Featured Replies

So going up to my tuner to get my recently revod RS with new forge dv tested on a rolling road. The big question now is whether I lash out the 190 euros for the K&N induction kit. Is the modest increase in power (3bhp I think), noise increase worth the hassle of having to oil it ? Leaving tommorrow at 7am so would be interested in what people think.

thx

Waste of money.

Panel Filter & Airbox mod is a lot cheaper and almost as effective.

Thanks. Although not too happy about putting holes in my airbox right now, what would just a new panel filter give me ?

Has any one drilled out the air box???

If so how and were to drill??

Any pictures to see??

I have just replaced my panel filter for a nice green one..

Cheers

I've got a few additional holes in my airbox, but have yet to replace the filter with an aftermarket one. The holes are in the bottom, at points where water might collect (so they act as a drain). Only 3 added (4 in total), don't see much point in any more...

TIMvRS - did you notice any difference in the car with the green panel filter in place over the standard item ?

I wouldnt bother F, on most road cars the standard airbox witha cold air feed fed from the bumper is the best and funnily enough the cheapest option, AFAIK even the new Seat touring cars (not too sure if its regs though) use the factory airbox...

Would be cheaper to buy the bottom of a factory airbox than the KnN, Im sure?!?!

Even drilling is would allow more heat soak,

Cheers

ps: does it still feel as quick ?

Well how did the rolling road go? what results? and did you go for the filter in the end? ;):D

Yeah,

Well only a small improvement, But it seems much more responsive in the lower end and also a little more growl at higher revs.

But overall a good little investment.

Cheers

Tim
