I have just bought a new temperature sensor, the one with yellow ring and metal round cup at end for my felicia 1.3 mpi. But having removed mine from the thermostat housing mine is different, it has a blue ring and the end of the sensor that goes into the coolant is just plastic and has a flattened end to it also there is a round ruber or nylon seal. The new one doesn't fit properly or make a seal. Can anybody enlighten me where I have gone wrong. Thanks.

the one you have removed is the old type, the new type fits just the same, it is held in with a horse shoe clip.

I had same prob a couple of weeks back, just bung the o ring around the bottom of the sensor and push it in to hole and then fit clip. guage mite read a bit different though

Why should the gauge read different ?

I think I had the same situation as you but mine fitted well with the rubber o-ring around the metal round bit.

I was a bit puzzled by the different shaped end but it works fine.

Why should the gauge read different ?

dunno but mine does, before it used to run just above the 1/4 mark and the fan cut in just above half now it runs just below half and fan cut in same as before

Hi, thanks everybody for your info, I have now installed new sensor having taken the seal off the old sensor and putting it on the new one around the base part of metal cup. Temperature gauge now working.

where did you buy the sensor ?
