Digi Cam gen + Vrs pics

Featured Replies

Hi people.

I've always been into photography but have never really done alot of looking into it.

The last camera a brought was a good one buts its big and chunky now.

I want a nice digi cam that has good feature and a good optical zoom however I dont want to spend alot and i dont know where to start looking as there as so many different models out there.

As a price range I think about £150 is the most I can justify at the moment (just been made redundant lol)

I've often thought about an SLR or even better a digi SLR but I dont know, pipe dreams i think.

So can anyone offer advice and pointers for a decent camera?

Also below are some pics i took with my trusty Nokia 6288 lol hence the poor quality, hope you like them thought, comments welcome.

Sorry about size aswell i'm going to guess. lol

cheers people

Here is the full Album.......I think

no one?

It’s a shame your budget isn’t a little bit higher. There are still a few Brand new 350D Canons knocking about for a bit under £300 with a kit lens. I dare say there are a few Nikons that are a couple of models old (but still brand new to purchase) that will be quite cheap. I have a small Canon A710S (compact) which is great for outdoors as it has a 6x zoom and optical image stabilizer built in. I also have a Fuji F20 (small compact) which is a little belter for taking pictures in low light conditions (ie indoors) The important thing is not to get hung up on megapixel count. 5 mega pixels is fine and 10+mega pixels probably isn’t if you are looking at a Digital compact. The more pixels these small cameras have, the worse the low light pictures tend to look. And if you are not blowing the pictures above A4 size you don’t really need 10+ pixels and in fact 5-8 will look fine.

I personally rate the Canon above the Ricoh as it has lens stabilisation as opposed to chip stabilisation. But the Ricoh is a bit smaller as I recall (I looked at the Ricoh at the time of getting my 710) Nice camera though:thumbup:
