Skoda Fabia 1.4 MPI 8v classic EGR??

ohh ermm well the only other thing i can think of is maybe its been put there to help starting on cold mornings with the hot exhaust air so it idles maybe. ill have to get the cover off and get some pics up here, maybe do it tommorrow

That is exactly what its for it directs warm air from the exhaust manifold to the the airbox to aid starting and running in cold weather.
