Juddering under braking

Featured Replies

Hi

Left my 53 plate Octy estate sitting with the hand brake on between November and Jan (yes i know - very silly) and when i came to move it the rear shoes had stuck to the drums.

I was off to my new job and didn't have time to whip the wheels off so i just dragged the car backawards and forward a couple fo times until the released. The juddering was bad for the first 50 miles but then eased off. However, i have noticed that im still getting the juddering under medium to heavy braking and i don't think its the ABS as i really don't think im braking hard enough for that to kick in. I have now dome well over 300 miles since the incident and its still a problem.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Thanks Steven

Guess the best thing to do is whip the wheels off and have a poke about? At least i won't freeze this weekend whilst im doing it!

Andy

Odds on you'll see rust patches on the discs and/or evidence of the pads breaking up round the edges.

Knackered shocks could also cause uneven tyre wear, which could then manifest itself under braking.
