Vrs wheels weight and A3 wheel weight on 1.4 mpi

Featured Replies

I was wondering about what weight the vrs alloys were?if any one knows that is  and also i was thinking off fitting some audi a3 wheels but they weight 22kg with tyres which im thinking is abit to heavy for a basic 1.4!

Any help me out with these issues?

Dan

is that 22kg for each corner  are they genuine A3 wheels, or replicas?

i think that maybe OEM wheels. I was really suprised just how heavy they are over the OEM skoda wheels.

I did weigh my S3 alloys when I bought them but dont have the numbers on me. I will update when I get home.

iirc a VRS alloy with new tyre is 18kg

A vrs wheel on its own is 9kg

right, here we go.

16" Elegance with tyre 18kg

17" S3 with tyre 22kg

god never knew how heavy the standard wheels are

VRS wheels are actually lighter than the steel spare with new tyre

Isn't that the whole point of alloy wheels? From the odd wheel change, I'd say 20kgs was about right. In any case, to answer the OP, your car should handle the weight no problems...

the difference is not that much though , maybe 1kg iirc , i think the whole point of alloys is for the better appearance compared to steel rims with plastic trims fitted , a lot of the aftermarket alloys weigh a great deal more than steel rims

Fair enough... :ne_nau:
