Exteria Trim

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My exteria trim that goes up the pillar and over the doors has on the near-side of my Felicia has popped out. Have tried to lift it back in but have made matters worse.

What is the possible way of squeezing it back into the trough, I have borrowed the girlfriends hair dryer thinking that might warm my hands whilst getting nowhere...!!!

Hope someone has an idea of what to do.

Thanks Circlip

lol they can be a real pain, keep trying, its just a matter of sliding and pushing all at the right time.

Thanks pinkskid for your suggestion.

I`m still cursing

I thought of taking a different route and go buy a fresh one that is clean and flexible but at £60+ (a 6th of what I bought the car for...!!!) i`ll have to persevere.

In the past my well looked after Felicia has had a new near-side front wing and the exteria trim is about 3cm short at the bottom of the window pillar, obviously damaged somehow and cut to fit. Well, I havn`t taken the whole thing off as yet `cos the less I release from the trough I recon the less trouble it will be squeeze it back in.

So, if I take the whole rubber trim out or off I would have thought that I need to start from the back of the car and thread it along. In so doing I would like to secure it, even if possibly just under the aluminium strip that is invisable under the exteria trim and use self-tapper screws or glue ? :o (any suggestions)???

It would be great if I had a draught free garage and a furnace heater...no such luck.

Can anyone give me clue as to what to do...Ta!

what about cutting off the part of the trim witch is gripped by the body, and glueing it in there?
