Buying new Turbos

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if you can purchase new Turbos direct from Skoda with relative ease?

Thanks.

Mark

Shouldn't be a problem as long as you have the funding to support it.

It is just a spare part after all.

Yes you can buy a turbo directly from skoda parts i looked into it when mine was playing up

As Stu rightly points out though the cost involved is horrendous which forced me to go the way of ebay

Approximately what sort of cost would one being looking at for a pd130 turbo?

Mark

i would say it may be cheeper to look at bigger turbos, im not sure but a a guess the PD130 turbo from skoda would cost well over £600+fitting from skoda but ebay maby £100-£200 just a guess tho

Std cost from Skoda is around the £900 mark IIRC.

Any particular reason you're asking? You suspect yours is on the way out, or similar? If memory serves, there's a suitable KKK unit that would work in the vRS in the classifieds.

No its just that I am thinking of replacing the turbo in my new Skoda Fabia Sport 1.9TDI, I know that sounds crazy but if I did it I would want a new Turbo obviously, so it was not a retrograde step!

£900 does seem mightily expensive

Thanks for everyones help.

Mark

I've got a second hand one for sale PD130 - cheap ;)

If you replace it with a new one, I'd go for a Garrett one instead of KKK, as they are similar money but apparently better quality. Any of the site sponsors that deals with hardware like that should be able to help you there, IIRC the Dervdoctor had some offers on at some stage, but any of them could do it ;)
