Leaving the Skoda fold

Featured Replies

Well after 2 years time has come to say goodbye to my Fabia TDI.

Has done well over the last 2 years with no major faults, in fact only real issue was a dodgy radio (replaced under warranty).

Unfortunately it will not be a Skoda that is the replacement, but a new Focus Zetec Climate which I have secured for just over £10k, pre registered with a grand total of 10 miles on the clock. Should pick up on Friday/Saturday.

Looks very nice, you don't have to leave though.

That's not Arnold Clark stickers on the car is it?

Good luck.

Make sure they give you all they promised you and the documents are in your name. Some car dealers have some questionable practices

it is I'm afraid, not my 1st choice but cost to change was better from them, needless to say I won't be returning there once I've got everything sorted out

they didn't really promise anything so as long as a V5 appears in my name then I guess i'm happy

The nearly new Fords are so cheap now. I saw a 52 plate 1.8 mondeo with 40k miles for £3.5k today. Seemed like a bargain!!!

They let me stay (I’m locked in the Brisky dungeon however………………don’t trust anyone driving a Skoda who knocks at your door asking if you have recently left the Skoda/Briskoda fold. It’s too late for me, but save yourself) and I bought a really unpopular car.

Looks very tidy, and a bargain as well... good choice  not that I'm biased at all:D

Enjoy your new car.:)

Best decision I ever made; chaining Amanda up in my dungeon! :orb_devil

I'm usually considered to be a "good cook", by my friends who are good cooks. I've no idea how good a cook Mr G is tho!

Well not got car (actually 4 weeks ago)

Few issues however please see:

Issues

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I only ever hear negative things about car purchases from AC.

Do you belong to a union with your work if so they may offer legal assistance to you in other matters not related to work.(mine do) If not do you get legal advice with breakdown or car insurance. Many include it in the cover provided it may be worth speaking to them.

In your letters to AC you never actually state how you want them to rectify the problems to your satisfaction I think you need to be direct at what you want but remain firm, polite and factual. You could say that the offer of a cheap service was an admission of guilt however I would steer clear if you have been dissatisfied so far.

I was Loskie at the start of these posts and having worked for T Standards for 3 years have heard some horror stories re AC.

Good luck

I agree and this has also been suggested by others that I haven't actually asked for anything.

As you say possible admission made by offering the cut price service but on this occasion would prob not venture back even if it was offered for free.

Do you think anything else would be reasonable to ask for?

I think that the key point would be to get the bumper refurbished and that would be it. Get a couple of quotes from a body shop or repairer like chips away take the quotes to AC and do your damndest to get them to pay for thr repairs. Communicate with them in writing( e mails is good quicker than post) and do not spend any money on getting the work done till you have confirmation that they will foot the bill. If they insist on their own bodyshop guys doing the work again get it in writing what they are going to do. Take before photos in case the work is not of good quality when done.

In your communications give them a time scale for defects to be made good.

Speak to someone with authority.
