Just wished I'd realised it was an unmarked police car! :eek: Doh!

The officer driving was really interested in it, asked lots of questions and couldn't believe that it went so well! He admitted that if he dropped a gear or two there would have been no contest, but in gear I was slowly pulling away for most of it! The car's standard apart from the PD160 intake and the slight (52 BHP) 'tweak' that Revo provided to the ECU .

Can't complain too much though, first time I've been caught in over 6 years of driving.

But what would you want more, a clean license or a car faster than a BMW 5 Series in top gear from 55 to 96mph?

We do like to play our games don't we ... Just wish the roads were less congested these days.

so your cars completely standard other than a remap and intake other than doing the turbo nothing else really gains much more power.

The Hereford police force allegedly has a BMW M3, though "TDIVrs" will probably be able to verify the validity of this claim

Remap does make a significant improvement over standard , obviously will not provide massive gains but is a pretty good bang vs. buck mod, (if you go easy on the clutch )

eh, i was saying it makes a big difference and that nothing else other than a bigger turbo makes much of a difference as the remap will gain you around 30-40bhp where things like the exhaust/intake etc will gain you nothing.

I'd heard the intake lets it rev slightly more freely but I haven't noticed a great deal of difference to be honest. It does cut down on the small amount of smoke you get when stamping on the accelerator (according to a mate who followed me before and after) which turns it back into a 'Sleeper' as cars behind you don't have that visual clue that you've just floored it.

I wasn't trying to start arguments, I just thought it would be a laugh as I've seen a million topics of people arguing what Fabias can and can't beat and I bet no one tried this one before!

The Fabia is quicker in gear because the turbo is so small, it spins up quickly. Hybrid's aren't that much bigger.
