the stock 1.6 aee engine only kicks out about 75 horses, What engine is in the pick up at the moment?

Hiya mate.

First define "fit"! ;) The PSA Mi16 engine is small enough that the bonnet will close over it whilst keeping a sensible ground clearance if that's all you're asking (it would go in a Pug 205). I'm not aware of anyone having done the conversion though.

So, in a general sense, you'll need the Pug engine, gearbox, engine wiring loom, and driveshafts, and the pickup driveshafts. You now need to sort out where the engine can physically fit, and make up custom engine and gearbox mounts, exhaust downpipe, driveshafts (Pug inner joints and RH centre bearing, Skoda outer joints), and new front springs and dampers to cope with the heavier engine (I'd guess similar rates to the Citroen ZX 16v or Pug 306 GTi16). A brake upgrade also seems indicated, but I have no idea how much off hand.

Having done all this, and got the engine wired up correctly, it might run decently. If not, I'd guess that you're looking at a custom ECU, and I'd be tempted to go with an Emerald, if only cos Dave Walker and his gang are good at this sort of mongrel.

ok. if its the 1.6 16v your thinking of, then no, they dont drop in i'm afraid (wish it did, i'd have one).

as for the coilovers. sorry but the front of the pick-up is based on a skoda fav underneath, and thats pre-vw with little to nothing in common with a golf or polo etc...

however, the rear of the pick-up i cant comment on, all i know is its differant underneath to a normal felicia.

cheer but i have now bought a 1.8 20v turbo passat for the donar should be fast enough lol

IIRC golf mk4 or 5 gti rear springs go straight on the rear and give about a 30mm drop

MK4 Golf Springs are 20mm lower as standard... if you use lowered versions, just add 20mm to the ride drop and you will have your total figure - that is for the rear..

The Fronts are just Felicia lowering springs.

And engine swaps - anything is possible with enough time/money/knowhow. But is it a straightforward swap?

I wouldent think so...
