Sell or not to sell the Furby Vrs that is the question ?

Featured Replies

Hi guys the warrantys up :( the novelty's warn off :( and I want more fun:thumbdwn: !!!

Is this you ??? lets talk if it is.

Ive been looking at a Spanking brand new Octy in white fully spec'd out but at £247.90 a month for three years when ive just got engaged is quite a chunk of money that I prob could afford but the rents, mrs and rents in law say NO which is annoying.

The only other thing i can think of is modding my Furby Vrs which has full leather, zenons and cruise with Jabba sport for a custom remap Octy brake upgrade, anti role bar and all the rest for just under £2000 but with no warranty etc I'm **** scared that my turbo or something extremely expensive will blow as I drive my car hard.

I had a new turbo fitted in june last year thanks to a bad remap at a company that will remain nameless unless asked for ;-) This was done under warranty with lots of other bits such as fly wheel and clutch etc pipes. The work cost just under £3000 and what im worried about is this happening again.

What to do guys ? im in a rut thinking W.T.F ! to do as I want a reliable car but a faster 1.

I looked at buying a Megane Dci 175 lux but heard lots of negative things about the electrics with vavavoom cars.

Anybody else with a Fabia Vrs feel like me right now ???? Any advice would be appreciated  as im so going crazy right now.

when you say full leather.....what leather are we talking?!

Go for a Generic map with Jabba (or company nearer to home) for a bit more go go....that shouldn't blow the turbo.

I wouldn't just get rid of it.....however, if the novelty has worn off, I doubt a remap would sort it.

How long have you had the Fabia for?

Just do up the fabia there are 2 doing well over 240bhp around here.

Plus you don't say what Octavia you have specced up.

well there are plenty of people with a jabba remap on a Furby with no issues so take it as way of getting it done properly

Hi karl, You made it back on then

You know my thoughts on the meg ;)

My advice is stick with the vrs, it isnt going to loose that much in say a months time.

The jabba maps shouldnt blow your turbo and the clutch should ok too.

If i wasnt so god damn busy this week id gladly take you out in mine to see where your money would go before you spend it.

If your after fun the jabba bar will bring the fun back by itself, the fabia vrs in standard form is a badge, and the jabba bar instantly transforms the car.

Theres a saying, better the devil you know than the devil you dont, I think you would get bored of the octy alot quicker than you have the fabia.

Sorry for not say what Octy it is it's the Vrs oil burner with zenons cruise heated seats and about 10 other spec items that amount to £1640 in optional extras on a spanking new candy white octy.

Total amount payable would be £18,424.40 after putting in £9500 deposit

I called other dealers in lancashire, doncaster, harrogate, sheffield etc and they said that dm keith in wakey arent hitting their targets if they're willing to sell at that price making a 2% loss which is obviously a good deal but...

Its £247.90 for 36 months which is quite a chunk out of my wage each month which i'd have no problem paying if it was just me i had to think of but...

Ive got to take into consideration the Mrs to be as ive just recently got engaged and ive got pressure from the Rent in laws not to buy a new car and same from my mum n dad !!!

I just wanna spend the money I bloody earn on a faster car that has got more spec than mine. I'd like ESP is it possible to fit it to the Furby at a reasonable price does anybody know ?????

I'm supposed to be going to see Gavin at Dm Keith in wakey after work today to put a deposit down and I know its a cracking deal but £247.90 a month.

Can anybody tell me what major things can go wrong on the furby that cost over a £grand ?????

Why do I always want bigger and better.

I do love my Fabia but its like when uve been going out with the same person for years you get bored and she puts on weight and you start looking at whats on offer for you especially when she stops turning you on lol.

Think I need to take my Furby down to Anne Summers (Jabba) and tart the little slag up !

For a quicker reply pls feel free to text me your thoughts on what I should do guys 07799360889 Im Karl

The furby will be easier to chuck around than the Octy, with a map its def a lot quicker so the Octy as std wont tick the fun box, OK that can be mapped as well but it has a diesel particle filter so harder to get much more out of it. Biggger car + dpf means lower mpg, also more to insure

18.5 K now, say worth 8-9 in 3 years, how much more will you loose on the furby in 3 years. Shiney new cars are fun but the novelty wears off as you are finding with the Furby.

Serious bit of advice, with the economy wobbly make sure you can afford the debt. If you are getting hooked shortly & have some money behind you in a few months there might be people pleading with you to buy their houses, will be hard but in 3-5 years it will have been a good move, Oh & DONT be presured by the wrinklies whatever you do

Even if it's with all the good will in the well, I would not put a mobile phone number on any forum. Anyone could use it.

The Fabias tend to be quite reliable, I've not heard of anything expensive go wrong with them. If anything did go wrong I'm sure there are now ample 2nd hand spares as the Fabia mk1 has been out for 7 years and aything major mechanical side for 4 with the vRS.

On the ESP thing, no you can't retrofit it, Ill agree it's a nice thing to have as I have it on my octy, but I don't think I'd miss it if it was not there tbh.

Everyone wouls like a bigger, better car, but the thing you need to ask yourself is do I need it?, is it worth paying the extra?, and as the car is out of warrenty, maybe what could I do to make the Fabia a faster/better car? as you would probably manage a lot of it for less than what you are putting down as a deposit.

Better suspension, remap, fmic, bigger injectors, lpg. If you search the forums I think the only thing you will fnd that hasn't been done is a 4x4 conversion, and even thats' been looked into.

To me it seems that you are not convinced with the new car option as you keep asking about what you can do to the Fabia. If you are not sure then do not do it until you are.

can you extend the warranty ????
