Locking wheel nuts

Featured Replies

Hi peeps

are the locking wheel nuts all the same on fabia vRS`s?

otherwise Im sha**ed

An if not, what do I do?

(Ive got a 04 plate vRS)

Lost your nut-key?

The style of the wheel nuts is the same, but there will be x combinations so having one locking key won't undo all of them. Pretty sure dealers have master sets (or are at least able to order replacements keys given the code on the nut).

Thread answered, thanks. you can close it now

pretty sure they're all different. There may be some documentation in your owner's manual that has the specific key number or else you can take your VIN to a dealer to order in some for you.

Worst comes to worst - you have to find someone to drill them out (it was explained to me by a pro in the Leather Bottle some time ago). And drilling them out is very hard work as they're hardened....

HTH

good luck

You're just down the road from me - Drop me a line if you'd like to try my "key".

There are many combinations of key, wouldn't be much good if there were all the same now would they.

If you can't get to a dealer, dont' have time or you dont have the code etc you can buy a removal tool from most good motorfactors for about £15 which is like a socket that cuts a thread and will remove the nut. However it destroys the nut in the process (Meaning you will need new lockers) and you need at least a vice to remove the tool to use it again.
