Where to go in YORKSHIRE for REMAP

Featured Replies

Thinking about getting my octavia remapped who should i go too?

What company remap should i get how much do i need it rolling roading as well???

Help?

Depends what you want - there are numerous places doing the Revo maps - not sure about independent tuners though.

I travelled all the way down to Wolverhampton to Performance Torque for one of their remaps as they were doing a deal and had good reviews on the Seat forum.

JBS in Chesterfield might be closest for you.

or if your looking for a spirited drive home you could try Awesome GTI in manchester and come back home over woodhead pass with your new remap

Try Bell Auto Services in York.

Fairly well priced and Pete knows his stuff when it comes to vag engines.

JBS at the moment have 30% off the custom code phase1

do these different tuning companys use the same map? is revo a type of map what about awsome do they just use a named map.

i need detail about how the remap relates to the business i have no knowledge on this subject.

The tuning companys use different maps from different mapping companies. I don't know too much about the subject delve in to it in detail. Awesome use the APR maps, JBS & Formula1 use the Custom Code mapping for example. They do the same thing in getting extra untapped performance out of the car, but all use different characteristic maps to acheive it.

Chipboost- scarbourgh

Bell autos-York

And our very own Briskoda member Angry dog (Mike)- Hull

do i need it rolling roading as well???

If its the Generic phase1/stage1 remap youwant then you don't need a rolling road, only if you want a before/after power run. If you want a custom remap which is a map tailored to your specific car, then you need a rolling road.

lol - cheers mart :)

Will be advertising my services on here shortly - just waiting for my web site to be finished :)

really interested in using angry dog.

What remap do you use will i have heard of the company

Hull is great for me to get too.

I have heard that remaps can be put on the ECU that cannot be picked up by The dealers etc is this true.

Also what affect does it have on insurance.

Angry Dog what sort of power uppage would you expect from my standard Octy?

Not in Yorkshire, but we are VAG specialists and can offer anything from a Stage 1 re-map to a full big turbo conversion.

A dyno can show you before/after results, but it not necessary unless you are after a custom map, where the car is run under various loads, and mapped appropriately.

If you want any genuine advise, or have any questions, feel free to to give me an e-mail at [email protected] :)

Yea ill stick my oar in as well and say that it was worth the trip to go and see Will at P-Torque.

By the way Will where are those stickers ;)

RSTuning in Leeds are very good.

Any remap can be detected with the appropriate equipment - and by driving the car unless the remap can be 'switched off'.

Some insurers won't cover remaps, eg NU Direct in the case of my wife's Fabia vRS when I asked. Phone around and ask, and be prepared to give details of the power increase.
