replace cylinder head

Featured Replies

I have a felicia 1.3mpi i would like to ask if there is any 1.3 engine which i can use parts from in order to make the engine a 16 V instead of an 8 valve. that includes replacing the injectors as well

thanks

Don't know if it's possible, but possibly an easier mod is to drop in a Fabia 1.4 mpi 8v engine. It is the same engine block with enlarged bores or whatever they're called :) I imagine you'd need to swap the cam over to have 16valves (if it was possible) so the engine would need to be lifted out anyway.

Yes i am replacing the timing chain so i have to lift the engine up any way thats why i am asking so many questoins in order to make everything at once. I am trying to fine tune my small machine. Some said i could lower the cylinder head and replace the low pressure pisonts which the skoda has. Could you give me more ideas please.

If it helps, it is possible to replace the timing chain with the engine left in the car. Hopefully some other people will be along with suggestions on what mods you can do :)

but i am also trying to increase a bit of performance.i will try to do a sort of blueprinting to the engine

The 1.4 16v engine is not the same block as the 1.4 8v so the heads wont swop over. the 16v is a pure dub engine.

the best way to get more power is to improve the gas flow (inlet and exhaust) and fit a fast road cam

Then strip the car of everything you dont need to reduce the weight

look on the engine block. find the skoda logo, and as i understand it, if it is painted yellow then its the 136 engine, and if not it is the 135 engine.

if its the 135 engine, it has low comp pistons that could be replaced with the 136 high comp pistons.

i believe that kent do a cam for that engine too.

as for the 1.4 8v fabia engine. iirc its stroked, not bored.

and the fly wheel has a different hole patten, but with the aid of a mill this can be over come.

as for the rest .: ENGITEC :.

i used the site but i dont understand Polish.

My car engine is the 135 so i will look for high pressure pistons. If i understood well i can also replace the cam right?

thanks a lot for your help
