Baker21's Superb........beading Baby!!!

Featured Replies

Very reasonable! ;)

Hopefully mine wont take that long Simon as it will hopefully be paint correction and sealing only - hoping to have the day before off work to do the engine bay, wheels and interior to the expected standard!

I am sure your paintwork will be in good condition mate, otherwise you may need to bring over a sleeping bag..................

P21S was the first proper wax I used after getting the PC. Was really easy to work with and the beading was great. Now I use Zymol Carbon and find I get more depth in the paint and it lasts slightly longer too. Harder to work with though.

More expnsive as well...........may end up buying some in the future? Does it work best on specific colours?

I think Zymol Creme is for lighter coloured cars and Zymol Carbon is for darker coloured cars. To be honest the main difference I find is the Zymol HD Clense. It really brings up the shine in the paint and makes the flakes pop. This makes more of a difference than the wax I found. The wax is there for a bit more depth and protection. Well worth the money though!

HD Clense then..........hmmmmmm.........so this is applied before the Wax and is similar to Lime Prime?

Its simply a paintwork cleaner, I use Megs paint cleaner which I dare say is much the same. I use it after polish to ensure the paint is as clean as possible to give the wax/sealant the best possible chance of staying on the paintwork. :)

I have used this stuff but I have used Megs Show Glaze #7.........

Always interested in different products and brands...........

I haven't used Lime Prime or any other paint cleaners/glazes other than Sonus products that I got with the PC. The Sonus Paint Cleaner and the SFX 3 glaze are two different products, but the Zymol HD Clense seems to be a combination of both. On detailing world a lot of people love the HD Clense.

Another thing about the HD Clense is that it says you should only use it by hand in straight lines but I've been using it with a 6" finishing pad on the PC and it's not left any marring. If anything it works better this way. Maybe its Zymol's marketing again, making us use more of the product than we need to, same as when they tell you to apply the waxes with your hands

Sounds like I am going to have to purchase some and give it a whirl then........just picked up tomorrow's car to detail and wondering what wax I will use on that one tomorrow.........

Nah, car will be OEM looking. Only getting 18" vRS wheels (mines on 17s! ) and probably FSDs/Eibachs one day.

Although long term some BBS 19s in black with the red rim would be amazing!

Come on Tom..............think OEM+...............you love FSDs/Eibachs!!!

Sounds like you have been looking on Edition38!!!

Nice detail there, shame the colour doesn't show the effort you put into it compared to say a black car. At least it won't look dirty as quickly!

My TT Comps were finished in the same colour (Platnium Grey).
