Leaky Fuel filter on TDI

Featured Replies

I've noticed that my fuel filter is leaking slightly out of the top where one of the pipes connects to it. Its the pipe with the T-peice init held with a clip.

Has anyone had this problem before, and is so, how hard is it to fix?

Also does anyone have a photo of one, because according to the pictures in the Haynes manual, the other two pipes on mine are the wrong way round.

If you remove the R clip the T piece will come out with the pipes attached, there should be a couple of (a blue and a black) O ring seals on it. A bew filter should come with these ) rings.

Is this the kind of filter you have?

There is a clip shaped like micky mouse's ears that should be holding the fuel pipes into the filter and 2 other clips holding the other 2 pipes.

Hope this helps.

Thats the one, but mine is 180degress round, so that the pipe coming from the back of the engine bay is conneted to the middle, and the pipe going to the engine/front is coming out of the pipe at the side. Does this make any difference?

BTW what's going on with all that wiring and pipes in that pic :D

Would it be worth changing the T-piece bit of piping as well?

 Seriously bad wiring in that picture :rofl:
