Used car prices and RRP

Featured Replies

Whilst looking around many websites for a used car I notice some sites say:

Car x is now £2000, a saving of £6000 from new price. 2002 reg.

Well it is a 6 year old car, of course it is £6k off. Is it just me or are they taking it a bit far?

On cars that old , yes , the saving over RRP is irrellevant.

On something a year or so old it's a valid comparison to show that you can make huge savings over new , but much older than that.... nope

It wasn't Arnold Clark was it. That's something they often do with their ads.

It's nonsense but probably no worse than the junk science in shampoo ads.

I love junk science. "Bifidus Digestivus" is my current favourite
