Hi,

anyone got this yet? BlueConnect Bluetooth Car Phone Kit (Grey) Part Number: ZGB1Z3060005

yes thanks, what do you want to know?

I assume this is different to the OEM BT kit that plugs in with maxidot and columbus?....

Yes it's a self contained unit that is installed in the sunglasses holder I think.

Jeff, are you sure this is the unit you have???

I have to say that it looks extremely poor compared to the proper BT module that integrates with maxidot and MFD units that Stu has sourced previously.

Also, to add - for a vRS you cant get this kit in black to match the headlining, and it looks like 2hrs labour to fit!!!

2 hours - lol push tabs out, take power from something nearby, move over sensors for alarm, fit.

I think its a case or removing the a-pillar trims etc and tapping into the back of the fuse box for a proper fit... I'm assuming 100BTU means something like 100 mins.

Even then that isn't 2 hours, maybe 1 hour, but not 2

Regardless of actual time, you are looking at well over £300 for a retrofit bluetooth kit that looks pretty pants if I'm honest. Much better ways of getting bluetooth imho. :) Why Skoda don't offer the kit from Seat/VW that Stu has been able to source I do not know.

well obviously OEM BT kit is sourceable....i think its just not an option on UK cars when ordering.

I believe that Stu said in another thread that there was a new kit coming in the spring that would be an option in the UK.....haven't seen anything "official" about it though

Just range my dealer to talk about 1st service later this month and he offered this to me! I reminded him that I have an Alpine head unit (not OEM Stream or similar) so its not compatible.

1. Looked it up and found for vRS you have to buy Grey as there is no Black (beige also available) - so it will stick out like a sore thumb.

2. £247 - ouch, wow!

3. plus fitting 100TU (minutes?) so another £100 or so, and

4. I don't use my phone much, if at all, in the car and already have a personal hands free kit.

So all in all - does't seem like a particularly good or worthwhile purchase! :thumbdwn:

Thanks for reitterating my comments! :)

I wasn't suggesting it was a good buy, far from it.

Great minds think alike then?

I was in the dealers the other day discussing the bluetooth kit Stu sourced for me and he pointed out that it is now offered in the new brochure as a retailer fit accessory. Although I'm not sure if its the same 1

Yes the Blueconnect is now in the accessories brochure.

Is this exactly what the OP posted about. Looks a bit naff to me.

Can someone please clarify what are the bluetooth options for integration with Columbus sat nav? If there is a chance to get a decent kit fitted at source as my car is built that sounds best to me at the mo

Btw do the kits support voice dialling/commands?

For Columbus integration you need the proper OEM Bluetooth hardware.

You'll get touch screen control of your phone on the Columbus. If you want voice then you need to have a Multi Function Steering Wheel.

thanks - I thought that was the case, but was geting a tad confused with talk of blueconnect

I've ordered an L&K with columbus so that's all good news :)

You'll love the Columbus. Make sure you watch a DVD in it and you'll find out just how good the OEM audio is.
