Anyone gone GIAC???

Featured Replies

Possibly thinking of getting this for a Octy Tfsi and was wondering if anyone had any experience of this system. It's basically a toss up between this and Revo.

PM me if 'stealth' is needed

Many thanks

Have only experience of REVO which has been discussed at length on here before but seems to be the choice of users on here but it is always interesting to hear about alternatives.

GIAC and APR along with REVO are the big three stateside and you'll get more info if you trawl the american VW forums such as Vortex and Golf MkV.

Thread moved to a more appropriate forum.

The worst thing about GIAC in the UK is the so called UK agent.

I have Driven the Star performance Leon TFSI with GIAC and a few other bits and bobs done and it was a hoot, the car was very progressive and smooth considering a power output around 300bhp, would reccomend it personally, only really been in one other mapped TFSI and it was a revo, I wasnt driving it but cant say i had anything I would moan about.

Theres a fair few dealers in the UK here : GIAC - Dealers

Perhaps I should be more specific, I've nothing against the individual dealers however there is a UK main agent which controls all activity in the UK - Thats who I wouldn't trust with a lego car.

We've both seen the ads in the VW magazines showing the success that GIAC have had on the track with their car so the software must at the very least be 'reasonable'!

I agree though that the main UK agent is a little 'suspect' to say the least.

Well i know that its popular in the States but no so here.

Ive just looked and there is a dealer in Sheffield that no one in the VAG scene i know has ever herd of. Shame as i could have gone about 4 miles for a remap instead of going to Wolves

Ahh well

We have tuned a few of the 2.0tfsi Octavia some with mods like FMIC & full turbo back exhausts.

We offer a factory smooth remap making around 245-250bhp with 285-300lbft. The system is fully switchable & the flash & security counters remain on zero. If you checkout the Audi sport forum, you will find that we are tuning the new S3 with great results.

Our own demo car now as giac software & v-f turbo kit running over 340bhp. If you fancy a trip upto see us, we can tune your car on the rolling road & then you can test drive the car. We offer a 28 day money back guarantee so if you are not happy we can reflash your car back to standard.

Cost is £530.00 inc vat for upgrade & the stock file is free & flasher is £99.00 inc vat.

So for £629.00 inc vat you will have 2 programs & your hand held flasher, but if you just want an upgrade then cost is £530.00 inc vat.

Jim.

Again I'm not doubting the software just the UK Main agent but it is after all a personal opinion.
