I have had my 03 Octavia for about 4 weeks. Can anyone tell me if the ticking noise which sounds like a tappet, but is from the breather system at front the right hand side of the engine is normal?. I never had any other car that did this. Is this a sign of an engine fault?

Is it Petrol or Diesel?

No mate - I posted a thread a few weeks ago... mine does the same

Apparently it's the fuel pump - I've heard it on at least one other Octy and I've decided it's normal.

My 02 p[late Oct 4x4t did exactly the same thing from the day I picked it up ( with 9k on the clock ).

Changed the car 6 months ago with 60k and it was still fine.

The injectors tick on those too its perfectly normal.
