Hi Guys,

i've had my car for a few weeks now, i brought it private sale from a oldish guy, but its the owner before that i wanna trace,

the car has got briskoda stickers in the front and rear window fitted by the first owner,

its got big uprated brakes, what look to me as 312mm brakes as there is only just enough room for the disc and caliper inside the std 16" wheel,

its got a plug socket, yes a plug socket fitted to the underisde of the dash under the glove box but it does not work,

there is a little metal almost relay like switch just to the right of the ashtray on the centre console, does not do anything, and also the cigarette lighter does not work,

there are also RCA cables and another cable, dont know what it is running down the left hand side of the car,

from the engine bay by the battery there is a big thick red power cable which goes into the car but i can find where it goes to,

and from under the dash under the glove box there is a 12v power cable which i managed to fish out,

does anyone remember this owner or this owner having some big stereo in his or her car,

just wanna see if i can find out what it was for before i start to take the dash and inside apart,

p.s the radio stopped working but was working before, :-(

its a sony headunit dont know the model but you can have cars and fish as the graphics on the display

Sounds like someone ran an invertor and possibly some computer equipment in their car. Rings no bells with me.

about the car,

its a Fabia VRS, silver, just done 40k

its a 2004 year car ending Reg is UMZ

everything else is standard, has the rubber boot liner in it,

ermmm it came with some seat covers as the guy who had it before the guy i brought it off worked for network rail??

If you got a copy of the V5 as it was when the old guy owned it then the previous owners name and address will be there. I usually make a point of getting this information before buying a car so I can speak to the previous owner. I've always found them very helpful and as it's not their car any more are very honest about any problems.

nope checked all the seals when i brought it, and the fllorwell in the boot innner wings etc, deffo silver,

no stress about the radio got it working again, wooo hooo

would still be interesting to see if anyone recognises it or could off any help

have been looking for a power converter to power items through the plug socket but i cant see one,

thing its behind the glove box,
